Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Motaz Askar

The North American arm of Cage Warriors is proving to be a lesson in organizational enrichment for those that are seeking a boost in their professional profile. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a lynx of severe bitterness ready to give the opposition the polar plunge at Cage Warriors 149 on March 3 to kick off the promotion’s 2023 campaign. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2019 and representing Factory X, Motaz Askar owns a 4-1 record in five fights comprised of two submissions, one knockout and one decision. Askar has fought for several organizations over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter including Legacy Fighting Alliance. He has finished three out of his four victories during his time in the professional ranks. The majority of Askar’s wins during his pro career have come inside a single round. He has gone to the scorecards a single time during his professional tenure, sweeping it clean across the board in that instance. Askar has three first-round finishes under his belt in five appearances as a professional mixed martial artist thus far. Askar has also fought for Colorado Fight Club and Hoosier Fight Club.

In his MMA debut at Hoosier Fight Club 41, he defeated Nick Friedrich via TKO in round one. Askar defeated Alberto Rodriguez via unanimous decision at Hoosier Fight Club 42 to earn his first and only decision win as a professional so far. Then at MCF 22 St Paddy’s Beatdown 10, he submitted Andreas Murray in the first round via rear-naked choke. Askar tapped out Carlos Calderon via rear-naked choke in round one in the main event of Colorado Fight Club 15. The victory earned Askar the second submission win of his professional career in addition to securing his third finish overall.

At Cage Warriors 149 on March 3, he will take on Damon Wilson in an encounter at featherweight. Good luck Motaz!
