Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Taka Mhandu

The continued resurgence of the newest generation of Irish talent has led Dublin to become a highly coveted date on the Cage Warriors event lineup. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a jaguar of camouflage ready to reveal his true colors as the latest talent for the promotion at bantamweight in the promotion’s Dublin return on April 29 at Cage Warriors 153.A professional mixed martial artist since September 2021 and representing Team KF MMA, under Cage Warriors veteran and head coach Chris Feilds, Taka Mhandu owns a 2-1 record through three bouts comprised of one knockout and one decision. Mhandu has fought for several organizations over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter including Cage Conflict and EFC. He has finished one out of his two victories during his time in the professional ranks. Mhandu has gone to the scorecards a single time during his career as a professional mixed martial artist. He has a single second-round finish under his belt in three professional appearances so far.

In his MMA debut at EFC 89, he faced Asiahu Tshitamba and went on to defeat him via a split decision to secure his first decision win as a professional. Then at Cage Conflict 6 Revive, Mhandu knocked out Ozbazaje Meraj in the second round. The victory earned Mhandu the first and only knockout win of his professional career thus far.

For his promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 153 on April 29, he will face Frenchman Benoit Blanc in a bantamweight affair. Other stars that will be included on Cage Warriors 153 include Leon Hill, two-time veteran  of the UFC Rhys Mckee, Dean Berry and the Shelley brothers in a night that is sure to have an entire nation buzzing from the opening bell to closing time.
