EFC 103 is ready to explode as all 22 fighters hit the scale including the main event athletes JP Kruger and Conrad Seabi who will contest the interim middleweight title with the victor booking a date to unify the belt against incumbent champ Luke Michael later in 2023. Though he failed to make the weight cut, ‘Cagewise’ promised fans violent fireworks against Kruger as the two legends of the sport whilst respectful of each other, vowed to go toe-to-toe in the Hexagon tomorrow night.
The co-main event athletes were equally confident of victory as the long-awaited return of Roedie ‘Relentless’ Roets sees him take on the imposing August ‘The Barista’ Kayambala on a main card that features an intriguing women’s catchweight bout between Kenya’s Felista Mugo and South Africa’s amateur champion Nicole van Wyk who are making their debuts on the biggest stage in African combat sports.
The DRC’s Christian Mulamba and Angola’s Eduardo Barros had to be separated by Night Guard security to prevent their fight beginning 24 hours early as did the massive heavyweight Juan Bezuidenhout who wanted to give a rude welcome to the debuting Boyka Kabangu who refused to back down teasing the fans of the gargantuan clash ahead. On a point of history, Cape Town’s undefeated Tumelo Manyamala has the dubious honour of welcoming the first Tanzanian fighter to compete in the EFC, Dauda Rajabu in the featured preliminary bout.
With a card replete with some of the best up-and-coming talent from across the continent mixed in with some of the most successful and respected fighters to have graced the Hexagon this past decade, EFC 103 is set to provide an evening of drama and action from the very first bell all the way to the amazing main event.
