Across The Pond Profile: Bellator MMA fighter Chiara Penco

The atmosphere at European events for Bellator MMA often instills a mammoth sense of national and personal pride in fighters to give a top-grade performance whenever the promotion heads overseas regardless of where it is on the map. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a cougar of beastly bloodthirst ready to show the strawweight division that her captivating claws are anything but a child’s plaything. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2017 and representing Rendoki Dojo, Chiara Penco holds a 8-3 record in 11 bouts comprised of five submissions, one knockout and two decisions. Penco has fought for numerous organizations over the course of her career as a professional MMA fighter including EFC, Oktagon MMA and Bellator MMA. She has finished six out of her eight victories during her time in the professional ranks with 100 percent of those finishes coming inside the distance. Penco has gone to the scorecards twice during her pro career.

In her MMA debut at The Golden Cage, she submitted Judith Levi via armbar in the first round. Penco also tapped out Diana Tavares in round one via triangle choke at Luxor Cage Fight. Then at EFC 67, she submitted Danella Eliasov via triangle choke in the fourth round. Penco tapped out Elena Andruschenko in round one via rear-naked choke at The Golden Cage. She defeated Aleksandra Plamenova via technical knockout in the second round to earn her first and only knockout win as a professional. Penco submitted Kathrina Dalisda via armbar in round one at Bellator 267 to secure her fifth submission victory as a professional. She defeated The Ultimate Fighter season 23 alumni Lanchana Green via unanimous decision at Bellator 281.

At Bellator 287, Penco defeated Manuela Marconetto via a split decision. The win earned Penco the second decision victory of her professional career. When Penco enters battle, playtime is all ended!
