Prospects on the rise often spend the beginning stages of their professional careers fighting for the home nation before striking it rich on the other side of the globe. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a polar pounder ready to blanket the opposition in nature’s elements for Unified MMA at bantamweight. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2021 and representing Niagra Top Team, Cody Chovancek owns an undefeated 5-0 record comprised of two knockouts, one submission and two decisions. He has finished three out of his five wins during his time in the professional ranks with all three of those finishes coming inside the distance. Chovancek is 1-0 under the Unified MMA banner and has gone to the scorecards twice over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter sweeping them cleanly across the board both times. He has two second-round finishes to go along with a single first-round finish in five professional appearances so far.

In his MMA debut at BTC 13 Power, he defeated Josh Martiniuk via technical knockout in the second round. Chovancek submitted Nicky Heinrichs in round one via rear-naked choke at BTC 14 Clash to secure his first and only submission win as a professional. Then at BTC 16 Challenger Series 1, he defeated Jake Geauvvreau via unanimous decision. Chovancek defeated Nathan Small via TKO in round two at BTC 18 Next Generation to earn his second knockout win as a professional.

In his promotional debut with Unified MMA at Unified MMA 51, he defeated Shawn Tremelle Johnson via unanimous decision. The victory earned Chovancek the second decision win of his professional career in addition to extending his unbeaten streak to five to begin his career and picking up win number one under the Unified MMA banner in the process.
