Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter George Tanasa

Many of Cage Warrior’s more recent success stories are in large part due to the fostering of regional talents in their local academies. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a crusader of the night skies ready to let in the sunlight as he looks for redemption in round two with the promotion. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2021 and representing BKK Fighters, George Tanasa owns a 2-2-1 record in four fights comprised of one knockout, one submission and a draw. Tanasa fought for various organizations including Shock N’ Awe prior to debuting with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 138 in May 2022. Both of his finishes during his time in the professional ranks have been within the opening round with two first round finishes to show for it in addition to a 100 percent finish rate. Tanasa has yet to reach the scorecards a single time over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter with two finishes in four pro appearances to show for it. He has also fought for Ultimate Fight League in his home nation of England. The majority of his fights during his professional career have been within five minutes or fewer.

At Ultimate Fight League 7, he faced Mihai Macarei and went on to defeat him via technical knockout in the first round to earn his first knockout win as a professional. Then at Ultimate Fight League 8, Tanasa tapped out Sebastian Peste in round one via armbar. The win earned Tanasa the first submission victory of his professional career along with his second first-round finish in the process. Standing up or taking it to the ground, Tanasa is an up and comer with a unique shine to him because he wraps up contests before opponents even have a chance to come awake at dawn’s first light!
