History has shown that a successful appearance on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series will eventually secure the winning fighter a call from the big show with a complete camp or limited notice. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a chilling captivator of winter’s night ready to demonstrate to light heavyweights why there can’t be pleasure without some painful lessons in the interim. A professional mixed martial artist since December 2018 and representing GBG MMA, Anton Turkalj owns an 8-2 record in 10 bouts comprised of five knockouts, two submissions and one decision. Turkalj appeared on the debut episode during the sixth season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2022. He fought for Brave CF prior to debuting with the UFC at UFC 279 in September 2022. Turkalj has finished seven out of his eight victories overall over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. He has gone to the scorecards once during his time in the professional ranks, sweeping it clean across the board on that occasion.
In his MMA debut, he defeated Marisus Pislariu via technical knockout in the first round. Turkalj also defeated his next three opponents that included wins over Felix Poliandris and Flip Vujic. Then at Brave CF 37, he defeated Athanasios Herkeletzis via TKO in round one. Turkalj tapped out Ibo Aslan via rear-naked choke in the second round at Brave CF 40 to earn his second submission win as a professional. He knocked out Konstantin Soldatov in round one at Brave CF 50 to secure his fifth knockout win as a professional.
In the co-main event of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week one of season six, he defeated Acacio dos Santos via unanimous decision. The victory earned Turkalj the first and only decision win of his professional career in the process. Victory tastes even sweeter when this crown prince soaks up every moment of his labor!
