International fighters often have to leave the comfort of their homeland to reach their goals on the other side of the American dream. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a princely ground specialist looking for his crowning moment as Ireland’s latest flyweight talent. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2022 and representing Team Ryano, Ger Harris holds a 3-1 record in four bouts comprised of two submissions and one decision. Harris has fought for several organizations during his time in the professional ranks including Cage Conflict. He has gone to the scorecards a single time during his pro career sweeping them clean across the board on that occasion. Both of Harris’s finishes over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter have come within the opening round with times of two minutes and eight seconds and one minute and 59 seconds respectively. He has two first-round finishes under his belt in four appearances as a professional mixed martial artist so far alongside a scorecard sweep.
In his MMA debut at Cage Conflict 6 Revive, he faced Ciaran Mullholland and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to earn his first and only decision win as a professional. Harris tapped out Tornike Chakvetadze in round one via guillotine choke at Cage Fight Series 12.
Then in the co-main event of Anthony Pettis FC 6 Virginia Fight Night, he submitted Cody Matthews via armbar in the first round. The win earned Harris the second submission victory of his professional career in addition to his second consecutive first-round finish in the process along with his third overall victory. Once a contest goes to the ground, it is only a matter of time before Harris uses his constricting squeeze to send the opposition to their eternal resting place in defeat’s hallowed hall!
