Across The Pond Profile: Oktagon MMA fighter George Staines

With the groundwork and UK expansion now fully in motion, Oktagon MMA now has fresh avenues to explore to go along with the sizeable talent base at their disposal for the next generation of UK talents. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to the newest member of the roster ripped from the headlines of Oktagon Challenge and thrust into stardom’s spotlight at 23 years young. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2023 and representing Hit Squad Hull, George Staines holds a 1-0 record with his lone win during his time in the professional ranks coming via submission. He is the inaugural winner of Oktagon Challenge and won the show as a member of team England in 2023. He is 1-0 under the Oktagon MMA banner with one finish in his only appearance with the promotion to show for it thus far. Staines has spent his entire professional career with Oktagon MMA and has never gone to the scorecards at any juncture over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. The one and only finish during his career as a professional mixed martial artist has come inside the fourth round with a time of two minutes and two seconds. He has a 100 percent finish rate with a single fourth-round finish in his lone outing under the banner of Oktagon MMA so far.

In his professional MMA debut and promotional debut with Oktagon MMA on the main card of Oktagon 48 in the finale of Oktagon Challenge, he faced Denis Frimpong of team Ireland and went on to tap him out via guillotine choke in round four. The win secured Staines the first submission victory of his professional career in addition to picking up a contract with Oktagon MMA in the process. Staines nerdy outside persona is just a mask of in his transformation in unleashing a primal beast roam free on the interior when the almighty angels summon him to service!
