The athletic profession often is a series of personal and professional trials that are designed to be a measuring stick for a championship heart where the greatest of rewards await those who pass the test with flying colors. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a serpent of steely eyed coldness ready to give heavyweights a fearful stare of finality as LFA’S latest polar pounder in the promotion’s twin city run back for the second time in 2024 following LFA 174 in January. A professional mixed martial artist since January 2023 and representing Start BJJ, Goozie Hines owns a 2-0 record with each of his wins during his career in the professional MMA ranks coming via submission. Hines has two second-round finishes in two appearances under his belt. He has a finishing rate of 100 percent and has never gone to the scorecards at any point in time over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. Hines is 1-0 under the LFA banner with a single finish in his one and only outing with the organization to show for it. Both of his finishes during his time as a professional mixed martial artist have been inside of two rounds.
In his MMA debut at CFC 2 Cold War, he faced Philip Latu and went on to submit him in round two via rear-naked choke. Then in his promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance on the preliminary card of LFA 174 Hines tapped out Will Johnson via keylock in the second round. The win scored Hines the second submission victory of his professional career in addition to his first win under the LFA Banner. He also picked up victory number two overall as a professional in the process along with back-to-back finishes.
At LFA 181 on April 5, Hines will face Justin Smith in an affair between undefeated heavyweights. Good luck Goozie!
