A brand-new champion will be crowned when OKTAGON MMA lands in Birmingham for the first time next month!
Inspiring cancer survivor, Aaron Aby (16-8-1), gets a second chance to capture gold when he faces one of the best flyweights in Europe, Sam Creasey (18-5), for the vacant belt at OKTAGON 56 on April 20. The talented pair already have history and their stories will meet at a crossroads inside Resorts World Arena.
Aby, who has achieved remarkable sporting success despite having cystic fibrosis, competed for the inaugural OKTAGON MMA flyweight belt back in Manchester. His main event with Elias Garcia was stopped due to a cut even though the consensus was that the Welshman had won the opening two rounds convincingly. However, Garcia turned down the rematch on two separate occasions so was stripped of the belt.

OKTAGON MMA has an incredible run of shows coming up across the continent and here are five things that you cannot miss!
1. Jungwirth returns: The German warrior and fan favourite is back this weekend at OKTAGON 55 after recovering from injury and he will walk out to 15,000 strong in his hometown of Stuttgart. He is must-watch TV whenever he steps into the cage and the energy he will receive from his adoring crowd may bring out his best performance yet.
2. Poppeck vs. Kimball: When you hear that a Viking and a Grizzly bear are going to meet and only one will walk away the victor, you simply have to tune in. Alexander Poppeck and Jeremy Kimball have twenty four knockout victories between them so another is very likely in the light heavyweight OKTAGON 55 co-main event on Saturday.
3. The Wanliss vs. Siraj grudge match: This €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger lightweight tournament opening round bout was supposed to go down earlier this month but was rescheduled due to a backstage altercation. They will instead meet in Wanliss’ hometown of Birmingham at OKTAGON 56 with the stakes raised significantly.
4. Shem Rock vs. Stefano Catacoli in Liverpool vs. London battle: Liverpool’s own, Shem Rock, has ruffled feathers ever since arriving in OKTAGON MMA and he wants to remind fans what he is capable of in a big, domestic matchup in Birmingham. Catacoli views this fight as the perfect chance to make a real name for himself in the UK whereas Rock is as confident as ever.
5. Exciting OKTAGON MMA debuts: At OKTAGON 56 on April 20, a whole host of recognisable names are joining the OKTAGON MMA circus! Irish standout, Will Fleury, former Cage Warriors champion, Mick Stanton, and top prospect, James Hendin are all looking to make emphatic statements to their respective divisions in their new home.
