ONE Championship™ (ONE), the world’s largest martial arts organization, electrified the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok with an explosive evening of martial arts at ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II, headlined by a closely contested World Title showdown.
ONE Championship, in partnership with leading premium lifestyle and luxury performance brand TUMI, presented the prestigious ONE World Title belt to the World Champion.
In the main event, former undisputed featherweight kickboxing king Superbon took care of business against fierce rival Marat Grigorian to claim the ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship.
The Thai superstar operated behind a punishing body attack, as he consistently dug into Grigorian’s midsection with thudding knees. The Armenian great fired back with vicious uppercuts on the inside, but Superbon was the busier, more accurate striker.
The two elite fighters went to war for five competitive rounds and both appeared absolutely exhausted by the end. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Superbon to win by unanimous decision.
In the co-main event, former longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hamaput together a virtuoso performance to defeat rising star Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai on the judges’ scorecards.
The 37-year-old Thai veteran took apart his younger adversary with well-placed combinations and superior technique. Kulabdam was cautious throughout the first round and opted to counter his legendary compatriot.
Action picked up in the second as Kulabdam began to push forward. Nong-O met him at the center of the ring and traded thunderous blows. The final stanza saw Nong-O’s impeccable defense and pinpoint striking take over, earning him the victory via unanimous decision.
