Earning your first taste of professional success never comes without a few lessons in the beginning stages of any athlete’s journey. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a twin-city ice serpent ready to raise the melting point on the opposition following some slick patches in the early going. A professional mixed martial artist since January 2024 and representing 3 Soteric, Dylan Smerillo owns a 1-2 record with his lone win in the professional ranks coming via submission. He has fought for Combat Zone MMA, 3 River Throwdown and Legacy Fighting Alliance. Smerillo has one first-round finish under his belt through his first three appearances as a professional mixed martial artist. Smerillo has never gone to the scorecards at any point in time over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter and has spent his entire professional career in the United States. The only finish during Smerillo’s professional career thus far has come inside the opening round with a time of one minute and 20 seconds. He has a 100 percent finish rate. Smerillo also fought for several promotions in his home state of Minnesota as an Amateur including Ignite Fights prior to turning professional. His one and only victory has come inside the distance in the space of five minutes or fewer.
In his third professional outing in the co-main event of Combat Zone 84, he faced Nathaniel Grimard and went on to submit him in the first round via guillotine choke. The victory earned Smerillo the first submission win of his professional career along with his first win under the Combat Zone MMA banner. He also picked up victory number one inside the professional ranks in the process. Smerillo is a prospect that shows once you set your mind on a goal, the success and rewards will be even sweeter than you can ever imagine!
