The most important thing that any aspiring mixed martial artist can do is be their authentic self every time they walk into the cage and come out of it a better person when the narrative is written in print. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to the latest Braveheart bell ringer ready to sound freedom’s alarm at Welterweight for Full Contact Contender. An Amateur mixed martial artist since November 2018 and representing Aspire Combat Sports Academy, Jordan Rutherford owns a 9-2 record in 11 outings consisting of five knockouts, two submissions and two decisions. Rutherford has spent his entire tenure as an Amateur MMA fighter in the United Kingdom and has fought for several promotions throughout his Amateur journey including Almighty Fighting Championship and UK Fighting Championships. He is 2-0 under the Full Contact Contender banner and has finished seven out of his nine victories overall over the course of his career in the Amateur MMA ranks.

In his Amateur MMA debut, he defeated Mike Porter in the third round. Rutherford also defeated Archie Oldridge via technical knockout in round three at Kingdom Combat Championship 3. Then at KCC 4, he defeated Lewis Humphries via TKO in round three. Rutherford defeated Lionel Brito in the second round at KCC 5 Kingdoms Collide. He defeated Roman David in the fifth round at Kingdom Combat Championship 5. Rutherford submitted Ash Shemeld via anaconda choke in the second round at Almighty Fighting Championship 35. He defeated Kieran Edwards at UK Fighting Championship 30 via unanimous decision.

In his promotional debut under the Full Contact Contender banner at FCC 39, Rutherford defeated Christian Soda via a split decision. He tapped out Graziano Gianni Jones in the first round via brabo choke at FCC 40 to earn the second submission win of his Amateur career in addition to back-to back victories under the FCC banner. He also secured his ninth win inside the Amateur ranks in the process. Rutherford is a shining Amateur who is illustrating to future generations that being genuine and working consistently on your chosen craft can be anything but a fantasy if you are committed to putting in the elbow grease even when the end result is not storybook under the circumstances!
