There is no exact science to sports, especially regarding a fighter’s journey to professional stardom. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the newest scientist of showmanship, ready to froth and foam at the surface level and burst Scotland’s bubble in a single pop as the latest Amateur to lace up in the yellow gloves at Cage Warriors 187 on April 19. An Amateur mixed martial artist since December 2022 and representing Fighting Fit Manchester, Christian Soda holds a 7-4 record consisting of five decisions and two submissions. He has fought for UK Fighting Championships and Full Contact Contender. Soda has spent his entire career as an Amateur MMA fighter in the United Kingdom. Both of his finishes over the course of his Amateur career have been inside the distance. The majority of Soda’s decision wins during his Amateur journey have resulted in unanimous verdicts.
At Full Contact Contender 32, he faced Afeez Oderinde and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision. Soda also defeated Theo Challoner at UK Fighting Championships 22 via unanimous decision. Then at UK Fighting Championships 23, he tapped out Jake Williams via rear-naked choke in round three. Soda submitted Jordan Allen at Full Contact Contender 34 via rear-naked choke in the second round to notch his second submission win as an Amateur. He defeated Jacob Dove via a split decision at Anthony Pettis FC 8 Manchester Fight Night. Soda defeated Jack McLeod via unanimous decision at Full Contact Contender 37. At Full Contact Contender 38 he defeated Kristians Bogzus via unanimous decision to earn the fifth decision victory of his Amateur career alongside his seventh win overall inside the Amateur ranks in the process.
In his promotional debut under the Cage Warriors banner at Cage Warriors 187 on April 19, Soda will square off against fellow debutant Chris Morris in a lightweight affair. Good luck Christian!
