OKTAGON 72 goes down in football stadium featuring ‘Judgement Day’ this Saturday

The biggest European MMA event of the year is just a couple of days away as OKTAGON MMA stage a third football stadium spectacular in twelve months!

OKTAGON 72 takes place this Saturday night, June 14, as we return to Eden football stadium – the home of Slavia Prague – for another loaded lineup. The exciting card features two huge contests with belts up for grabs, a plethora of domestic favourites and a host of rising prospects as well as a few other surprises!

The six-year long rivalry between Karlos Vémola (37-9) and Attila Végh (33-10-2) is a massive part of the foundation from which the current success of OKTAGON MMA was built. Both icons come together for the final time in the main event trilogy this weekend to decide who is the better man and who will go down as the certified superstar of an era. The victor can walk off into retirement after being immortalised while the loser will know they are in their opponent’s shadow forever.

Their first bout broke all Czech/Slovak MMA attendance records in 2019 and it was former Bellator champion, Végh, who shocked the world by knocking out ‘The Terminator’ in just over two minutes. After a five year wait, the rematch took place last year in Eden football stadium (breaking new records) and it was Vémola who got revenge, submitting his adversary during round two. With the score even at 1-1, it’s all on the line for both light heavyweights at OKTAGON 72 including the brand-new ‘Infinity Belt’, a symbol to define a whole generation. Only legends live forever and this time, one will rise into infinity on ‘Judgement Day’.

Karlos Vémola wants to claim the ‘Infinity belt’ in his retirement bout
In the co-main event, UFC veteran, Makhmud Muradov (28-8, 1NC), finally collides with former P4P king, Patrik Kincl (28-11, 1NC), for the interim middleweight title. They were previously scheduled to compete six years ago in another organisation, but the bout fell through. However, neither man has been able to shift the other from their mind ever since that moment and now they will get closure, laying it all on the line in Eden football stadium. Bragging rights. Glory. Gold. The winner takes it all.

One of the best to ever compete in Europe, Ivan Buchinger (44-10), squares off with standup phenom, Vladimír Lengál (8-4), in a lightweight feature bout where a finish is all but guaranteed! ‘Buki’ has fought all over the continent including M-1, KSW and Cage Warriors and at 39-years-old, he is still proving he has what it takes to challenge the youth of today. The far less experienced Lengál was claiming straps in boxing and kickboxing before he transitioned to MMA and now has a 100% knockout rate. This is a classic Czech/Slovak derby that will have the crowd on the edge of their seats until a highlight-reel stoppage is delivered!

Opening up the main card, the first ever Tipsport Gamechanger winner, Bojan Veličković (25-12-2), welcomes former lightweight belt holder and European MMA Champions League finalist, Ronald Paradeiser (21-9), to the welterweight division. Veličković hasn’t stepped into competition since he won the inaugural tournament in 2023 to allow himself to recover and focus on coaching his children’s classes back in Colorado. ‘Rony’ has struggled with the toll weight cutting has had on his body and it has been speculated that this move up a weight class could result in the best version of the Slovakian we have seen yet.

Elsewhere on the lineup, dangerous striker, Daniel Škvor (9-4), throws down with Argentinian talent, Lucas Alsina (13-5), at light heavyweight and OKTAGON Challenge Germany alum, Jaime Cordero (8-2, 1NC), takes on all-action, David Hošek (12-6-1), in a middleweight banger. Former IMMAF champion, Alina Dalaslan (1-0), also makes the next steps in her fledgling professional career opposite Polish warrior, Róża Gumienna (5-4), at bantamweight.

Alina Dalaslan has the potential to be the next German superstar
