Over 11,000 fans sell out OKTAGON 75 this Saturday in Hannover debut

OKTAGON returns this Saturday, September 13, with a fun-filled card as we take over the German city of Hannover for the very first time. The entire Zag Arena was completely sold out shortly after tickets were released, and over 11,000 fans will experience an electric atmosphere as they witness OKTAGON 75. A host of domestic talent will take to action alongside some UFC veterans, all looking to steal the moment for themselves.

In the main event, surging hometown featherweight, Gjoni Palokaj (11-3), hopes to extend his winning streak to seven when he faces rising star, Jakub Batfalský (8-1), who at 22 years old is the youngest Czech to headline a card in the organisation. Palokaj is the best friend of Max Holzer, who was originally scheduled to appear on the show before suffering an injury, and is intent on giving the best possible impression of himself as he steps into the spotlight for the biggest moment of his career. His opponent, Batfalský, is touted by many as one of the best prospects in the promotion, and if he can silence the crowd and end Palokaj’s momentum, he’ll skyrocket himself into the title picture.

Bulgarian tank, Lazar Todev (11-7), wants to work his way back to another shot at the heavyweight belt as he takes on talented grappler, Luis Barbosa (16-9, 1NC), in the co-main event. Todev last competed against Will Fleury back in March and just fell short in his mission to capture gold, but knows he isn’t far away from getting right back into that same spot again. However, the Brazilian knows he has the opportunity to blow the division wide open if he can make a big statement in his new home and take out the two-time title challenger.

Lazar Todev has been very close to lifting gold on two occasions
Another Hannover favourite, Mohammed Walid (8-4), faces UFC veteran, David Dvořák (21-6), in a very important matchup for the flyweights. Walid made his promotional debut earlier this year in Dortmund and earned a decision victory over Aaron Aby, displaying a well-rounded skillset. ‘Undertaker’ returns to OKTAGON after six years away on Saturday, going the distance with the likes of Manel Kape and Steve Erceg in that time. The victor here will have champion, Zhalgas Zhumagulov, firmly in their sights.

Elsewhere on the card, top South American athlete, Edgar Delgado Jimenez (15-7), clashes with dangerous finisher, Khalid Taha (15-5, 1NC), at featherweight and Austrian phenom, Mago Machaev (15-2, 1NC), squares off with all-action Brazilian, Wanderley Junior (18-10), also in a featherweight bout.
