The T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, was absolutely electric on October 4, 2025, as the UFC delivered an unforgettable night of fights at UFC 320: Ankalaev vs. Pereira 2. The night culminated in a stunning, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it finish that crowned a new king in the Light Heavyweight division.
Main Event Mayhem: Poatan Stops Ankalaev in Round 1
All eyes were on the main event, a highly anticipated rematch for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Champion Magomed Ankalaev stepped back into the octagon with former champ Alex Pereira (a two-division UFC and former two-division Glory champion) after taking the belt from “Poatan” via unanimous decision at UFC 313.
This time, however, the result was a shocking first-round TKO victory for Alex Pereira!
Pereira, known for his devastating power, wasted no time, dropping the champion with a flurry of vicious punches and elbows at just 1:20 of the first round. The victory not only settled the score but also made Alex Pereira a two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and arguably one of the most decorated strikers in the history of combat sports. What a statement!
Co-Main Event: Dvalishvili Dominates to Retain Bantamweight Gold
The co-main event saw another championship on the line as UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili faced former interim title challenger Cory Sandhagen.
In a high-paced, five-round war of attrition, Merab Dvalishvili proved why he’s the champion, securing a dominant unanimous decision victory (49–45, 49–45, 49–46). The champion’s relentless pace, overwhelming grappling, and striking pressure were too much for Sandhagen to handle over the full 25 minutes, cementing Dvalishvili’s reign atop the competitive Bantamweight division.
Fight of the Night: Procházka vs. Rountree Jr. Delivers a Knockout!
The Fight of the Night bonus was well-deserved, going to the Light Heavyweight clash between former champion Jiří Procházka and perennial contender Khalil Rountree Jr.
“Denisa” Jiří Procházka proved he’s still a major threat in the division, securing a spectacular KO via punches at 3:04 of Round 3. This high-octane battle was a constant back-and-forth war, with both men landing heavy shots, but the former champion’s striking precision proved the difference-maker.
More Main Card Highlights
- In Featherweight action, Youssef Zalal pulled off an impressive upset and secured a Submission (armbar) win over the veteran Josh Emmett in the first round.
- Joe Pyfer continued to impress in the Middleweight division, earning a Performance of the Night bonus for his second-round Submission (face crank) victory over Abusupiyan Magomedov.
