Dropping down a weight class in MMA often upgrades the quality of a fighter’s personal and professional performance in the long-term outlook of their future sporting success. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a frosty provincial jolter ready to short-circuit the competition at Light Heavyweight for Unified MMA as he sets the stage for the second act in mixed martial arts. A professional mixed martial artist since October 2023 and representing 613 Fight Factory, Mirza Hopovac owns a 3-0 record with all of his victories coming via TKO. He has spent his entire professional career with Unified MMA and is 3-0 under their banner. Hopovac has never gone to the scorecards over three appearances as a professional MMA fighter with three finishes and a 100 percent finish rate to show for it under his belt. He has spent his whole journey inside the professional ranks in his home nation of Canada. All three of his finishes have been inside the distance with two first-round finishes alongside a single third-round finish.

In his professional MMA debut and promotional debut under the Unified MMA banner at Unified MMA 53, he faced Manuel Garcia and went on to defeat him via technical knockout in round one. Hopovac also defeated Bohdan Kotok at Unified MMA 61 via TKO in the first round. Then in his third outing under the Unified MMA banner at Unified MMA 63, he defeated Fawasz Olayemi via technical knockout in round three. The win scored Hopovac the third knockout victory of his professional career in addition to picking up win and finish number three under the Unified MMA banner. He also earned his third consecutive victory as a professional mixed martial artist in the process.

In the main event of Unified MMA 66 on February 20, Hopovac will face off against fellow undefeated prospect Jake Craig for the Light Heavyweight title. Good luck Mirza!
