Cage Warriors announce Moore vs Cerilli for the heavyweight title will headline Super Saturday’s first main card event, and Wood vs Iovine for the bantamweight belt will top the second main card, offering fans 2 explosive shows packed with world-class talent in 1 night on March 24th.
Last time Cage Warriors staged a Super Saturday event in the capital at CW69 in 2014, MMA fans were treated to an insane card filled with fighters who would go on to become future world superstars. 9 fighters on the card went on to compete in the UFC, including Joanna Jedrzejczyk and former Cage Warriors World Champions Stevie Ray and Jack Marshman. President Graham Boylan promised after the event that it would return due to its massive success. The time is now.
“We’re giving these athletes a platform to showcase themselves to a world audience,” says Boylan. “I’m excited to see who steps up their game and grabs that opportunity with both hands.”
This time around, Super Saturday is returning bigger and better than ever. 3 world title fights will take place across 2 events in 1 night, resulting in CW92: Cage Warriors most ambitious and exciting showing in years. London’s Indigo at the O2 arena will play host to a heavyweight title fight between champion Mauro Cerilli and Karl Moore, as well as a clash between knockout artists Sam Creasey and Nathan Greyson for the vacant flyweight belt, both of which will take place on CW92’s first main card event of the evening. The second main card will be topped by a bantamweight title bout between reigning champion and London favourite Nathaniel Wood and Italy’s Luca Iovine.
“I’m already the Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion, so I thought, what else can I do?” said Karl Moore in a recent interview with Fighters Only magazine. “The only person that’s done this is Conor McGregor, so after I win the heavyweight title, I’ll be the second man in Cage Warriors to hold belts in two divisions.”
Also returning to the Cage Warriors octagon on March 24th is welsh super-prospect Jack Shore. Undefeated as both an amateur and a pro, Shore has travelled across Europe making his mark on the featherweight division since his fighting career began. UFC veteran Vaughan Lee will welcome Shore into the bantamweight division, in a fight that will test Shore’s ability to go toe-to-toe with true experience and Lee’s ability to fend off the best rising stars on the scene. With the winner of this bout likely to get a shot at the bantamweight title, both fighters will be willing to leave everything on the line.
And Shore isn’t the only prospect looking to make a statement at CW92: Jamie Richardson, Dean Trueman, Craig White and more will also appear on the card. See below for the full fight details for both main card events on March 24th, as well as the pro preliminary bouts.
