To help achieve these goals, Rankin has teamed up with Scottish promoter Sam Kynoch, under the Kynoch Boxing Promotion banner.

Rankin is another exciting Scottish fighter added to the Kynoch Boxing stable.

MMA UK recently asked Hannah why the move to Kynoch Boxing?

Yes, I have recently signed a management deal with Sam Kynoch and Kynoch Boxing. Being Scottish I wanted to keep a strong connection to home and I also feel that Sam will be a great asset for me and the team going forward with my boxing career.”

How will does she feel the move will benefit her?

Rankin explained, “Working with Sam I feel that I can continue to help grow female professional boxing in Scotland and raise awareness of women in the sport at home on a world stage. Sam has also become Scotland’s top boxing managers and promoters and I believe he is the one to guide me to becoming Scotland’s first female World Champion.”

Having competed and lost for the world title against Alicia Napoleon, Rankin feels she can hold her head high after her performance and that she is not too far away from joining that elite level.

Rankin said, “I’m proud of my recent performance against Alicia Napoleon for the WBA Super Middleweight Title. We put on a great show and the fight was declared fight of the night! It was an amazing experience to fight in New York at that level and I learnt a lot about myself and that I’m not too far off achieving my goal of becoming a world champion.”

Are we likely to see Rankin in the ring anytime soon

Myself and my team have a few things in the pipeline hopefully we can announce soon!” She said.

Although suffering a loss at world level Rankin still believes that she will become Scotland’s first female champion. Feeling that the experience will stand her in good stead.

Rankin explained, “Although I suffered a loss at a world level I have no doubts that I will take everything I learnt from that fight and work towards becoming Scotland’s first female world champion. As a boxer, you are ever evolving with the sport and sometimes you need to be willing to take risks and put yourself out there to test yourself and find out where you’re at. Now I know where I’m at and it’s not that far off achieving my goal and I will work hard with my team to achieve this.”

Sam Kynoch had the following to say about Rankin, “I am delighted to have Hannah on board as part of the Kynoch Boxing team. I firmly believe that Hannah will become Scotland’s first female world champion.”
