Through two seasons of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on UFC Fight Pass, it has become a new gold mine for the organization to foster and develop talent in addition to giving various divisions some much-needed depth.  In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two alums from season two of the show whose stock continues to rise thanks to their own unique paths and styles.

Montel Jackson – A professional since June 2017 and representing Pura Vida BJJ and MMA, Montel Jackson owns a 6-1 record in seven career bouts as a professional comprised of five knockouts and one decision. Jackson appeared on week one of season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018. In his MMA debut at Pure FC 7, he defeated Josh Wiseman via TKO in the first round. Jackson also defeated Sean Huffman via TKO in round one. Then, he defeated Terrence Almond via unanimous decision. At Driller Productions No Mercy 7, Jackson defeated Jessie Wannemacher via TKO in the second round. He knocked out Darron McCant in round one at Driller Productions A Town Throwdown 13. At DWTNCS 1, Jackson defeated CES MMA veteran Rico DiSciullo via TKO in round three. With five of his six professional wins coming via knockout, the man they dub ”Quik” has thunder in his hands!

Austin Vanderford – A professional since March 2017 and representing Gracie Barra Portland, Austin Vanderford owns a perfect 5-0 record comprised of two submissions, two decisions and one knockout. Vanderford appeared on week five of season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018. In his MMA debut at Prime Fighting 9, he defeated Sol Renato via TKO in round one. Vanderford defeated his next two opponents via decision in Ben Frodor and Adam Fugitt.  In his only outing with Victory FC at VFC 59, he tapped out Kenny Licea in the second round via rear naked choke. At DWTNCS 5 Vanderford submitted Angelo Trevino via rear naked choke in round two to earn his second submission win as a professional and improved his unbeaten streak to five to begin his professional career. Whether it is on the feet or the mat, ”AK 47” strikes like a speeding bullet!
