UFC Fight Night 140 main event winner Santiago Ponzinibbio denies the thought of fighting scouser Darren Till.

Argentine native Santiago picked up a £50,000 “Performance Of The Night” bonus in last night’s main event in Argentina, at Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires. He defeated Neil Magny by KO in 4.26 of the fourth round. Ponzinibbio did not disappoint in any moment of the fight due to dropping his opponent multiple times with thunderous leg kicks and applying tremendous pressure.

In his post-fight interview with Jimmy Smith, Santiago called out current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and stated that he deserves a title shot while extending his winning streak to seven.

However, the possible title shot for Ponzinibbio could be held back for a while as Woodley is in talks to next face number one contender and interim champion Colby Covington, in which could take place sometime early in the new year.

This, unfortunately, leaves Ponzinibbio stuck in finding his next opponent and a fight against the winner of Rafael Dos Anjos Vs. Kamaru Usman. Another possibility could be Darren Till. “The Gorilla” is coming off his first-ever mixed martial arts loss in his professional career, which happened by the hands of Tyron Woodley at UFC 228 on September 8, 2018. Woodley secured a second-round submission.

Till earnt his immediate title shot after defeating Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in the main event of UFC Liverpool on May 27, 2018, he picked up the victory on points in an all-out classic Muay Thai Vs. Karate match-up.

When the idea was brought up of Santiago Ponzinibbio possibly fighting English native Darren Till, the Argentine would quickly dismiss the chances of it ever taking place.

Stating, “I don’t see him as a very professional athlete. I think he missed weight a few times, so there are other fights that I’m more interested in than him.”

Is there a fight that you’d rather see Santiago Ponzinibbio compete in than the ones listed above, please leave your thoughts in the comments.
