The long awaited rivalry between the top 2 bantamweights in the world will be over when Petr Yan defends his title against Aljamain Sterling in December!

The UFC president Dana White told Yahoo Sports today that the title bout would take place at UFC 256 and be the co-main event. This could mean that the women’s featherweight title bout, Nunes vs Anderson will be the main event or that the UFC are looking for a big main event that would serve the card with three title fights.

Petr Yan is unbeaten in his UFC career so far and picked up the bantamweight title at UFC 251 when he defeated longtime featherweight king Jose Aldo via TKO in the second round. He will be looking to continue his successful run when he takes on Sterling in December.

Aljamain Sterling is on a good run himself and has recently defeated Cory Sandhagen via a first round submission at UFC 250 to secure his title shot against Yan.

UFC 256 will take place on December 12th at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
