Former Strikeforce fighter Gina Carano is no longer a part of the Mandalorian cast after she shared a post suggesting that being a Republican today is like being Jewish during the Holocaust.
Carano who played the character Cara Dune on the Star Wars series has deleted the post but was too late as it was shared all over social media prompting the hashtag #FireGinaCarano to trend.
Lucasfilm then released a statement confirming the news
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a widely distributed statement. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Carano’s agents at United Talent Agency have also parted ways with her according to Deadline
