When you are a fighter on the rise in Cage Warriors, the road to the top can be testing even to the best. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a golden lion ready to bare his fangs in victory with snakelike swiftness at Cage Warriors 123 on June 24 as the Cage Warriors trilogy marches forward from London’s York Hall. Since July 2018 and representing SBG Manchester, a professional mixed martial artist, George Smith owns a 5-2 record through seven professional contests comprised of three submissions, one knockout, and one decision. Smith has fought for multiple promotions including Cage Warriors and has finished four out of his five victories during his time in the professional ranks with four first-round finishes under his belt.  The bulk of Smith’s wins during his career as a pro-MMA fighter have come before the close of the opening round. He is currently 2-1 under the banner of Cage Warriors, with one finish in three appearances. Smith has gone to the scorecards once in his career, winning via decision across the board in that instance.

At Almighty Fighting Championship 11, he defeated Ryan Hewston via TKO in the first round. Smith submitted his next two opponents in Marcin Prostko and Henrik Lie. Then in his promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 109, he defeated Jenaid Eubanks via unanimous decision. Smith tapped out Lucas Marcinkowski in the first round at Cage Warriors 112. The victory earned Smith the third submission win of his professional career along with victory number two under the banner of Cage Warriors. He also picked up his fourth first-round finish in the process.

On June 24 at Cage Warriors 123, he will face Mick Stanton in a middleweight affair. Other fighters that are set to appear on Cage Warriors 123 include Aaron Aby, Matthew Bonner, and Josh Reed. Good luck George!
