March 18th will see many Phenomenal athletes take centre stage at the Indigo at the 02 for the action-packed CW134 card.

Making his long-awaited debut on the night will be GBTT’s, Lone’er Kavanagh. After unfortunately missing out on his debut back at CW132 at the tail end of the year back in 2021. The young prospect will be hungry to make an impact on his upcoming opportunity on March 18th.

I sat down with Lone’er on my visit to GBTT to pick his brain on his upcoming inclusion on the CW134 Card set for March 18th at the Indigo at the O2. And gain some insight into what impact he will have on his next step in his professional career.

Lone’er Kavanagh 2-0-0 is an English amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Flyweight division, representing GBTT. he has professionally competed for Rise Of Champions MMA, Fightstar Championship and is scheduled to make his debut for Cage Warriors.

I appreciate you taking the time to speak to me today Lone’er, I can see training is going well. I’d also like to congratulate you on your recent fight announcement for the CW134 Card.

“Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I’m excited to finally fight on Cage Warriors, especially after last time it didn’t go as planned. I’m on track for this one.”

How does it feel to be joining your teammates for your 1st outing for the biggest MMA organisation outside of the UFC?

“It’s amazing, having so many people there getting ready with you for a fight is awesome. We got Nik, Kingsley, Jeremy and Will all on the same card as me. We’re all getting ready at the same time. We got Nathaniel fighting the day afterwards at UFC London. And a load of guys fighting on shows a week apart, so it’s cool having that atmosphere in the gym, everyone’s hungry to get in there.”

You have enjoyed winning form across your MMA Journey since turning pro back in 2019. A great compliment to the phenomenal work taking place here. It must be great to work with such a well-oiled machine that is GBTT?

“Yeah, it’s awesome. You’re only as strong as your team is, and having people like Brad, Nathaniel, Ashley Grimshaw. All the guys that work with me, all the guys at Elevate Martial Arts. My strength and conditioning coach as well, Glen. It’s such a well-oiled machine I’m almost like a player in a video game, get told to move this way, that way and then we get there.”

Every athlete in your profession has that one teammate in the gym they call their partner in crime. That one person they just click with and aspire to make each other a better version of themselves. Is this the case for you at GBTT?

“Yes and no, here there are so many different people that I click with. There are so many great sparring partners, Nathaniel is a big one. He helps a lot and he’s been in the game for a while so he knows all the tricks of the trade. We spar a lot and we have great rounds, guys like Jawani and Kingsley that I also just enjoy sparring with. What other sport can you go into training every day, try taking each other’s heads off and then go for a coffee afterwards lol.”

On the 18th you take on The Mat Academy’s Ryan Morgan, also set to make his debut for Cage Warriors on March 18th. Have you had the opportunity to do some research on your opponent leading up to your highly anticipated Debut?

“Yeah, I’ve done some research. I try not to go in too much on my opponent’s position, he’s doing what he’s doing and vice versa for me and hopefully on the night I’ll be better in there.”

Many of your teammates will be joining you on the next step of your professional career at CW134. Other than your inclusion on the night, are there any of your teammate’s bouts you’re particularly looking forward to witnessing?

“Obviously I’m looking forward to everyone fight, but I’m looking forward to Kingsley’s bout. He’s one of my favourite fighters, watching him fight is always entertaining. Especially because he goes in there always smiling, it’s cool to watch. I’m looking forward to watching him.”

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

I’d like to say thank you to everyone who’s coming to watch and support me. To the guys getting tickets from me and all the supporters, it’s greatly appreciated. To my sponsors, we got Scramble, Taylormade Plumbing. I’d like to say thank you to GBTT for this amazing facility, Elevate Martial Arts, for being there from the beginning. My Coaches Carlton Lieu, Brad Pickett and Glen.”
