Oliver Enkamp 10-3-0 is a Swedish professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Welterweight division, representing Pancrase Gym Sweden. He has competed for International Ring Fight Arena, Trophy MMA, Superior Challenge, UFC and Bellator MMA.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to speak to me today Oliver, and also to congratulate you on your recently announced inclusion for the Bellator London card on May 13th.

I hope training camp has been going smoothly in the build-up to your return to the Bellator cage?

“The training camp has been relatively smooth! I’ve been enjoying it, but I say “relatively” because I always get some stupid injury that I have to work around, and I don’t know if I have some kind of curse laid upon me or if it’s just the nature of the sport – but I hope it’s the latter haha!”

The long-awaited return to London is nearly upon us, fight fans will be shaking the very foundations of what’s bound to be a sold-out OVO Arena Wembley. How did you feel when receiving the news you’d be part of Scott Coker’s return across the Atlantic?

“I was very happy to once again be a part of the London event, where I did my Bellator debut back in 2019! This will be the third time I fight in London so it starts to feel like my backyard now. For those fans who remember my first fight here, I had a crazy night, having to stay in the locker rooms for more than 10 hours (!) and fighting after midnight when the main event was over and the audience was on their way home. The reason for this was that I ended up having the last fight on the prelims – which they call the “swing bout” – because the main card had to start at a specific (televised) time; so they postponed my fight several times because the previous fights took so long. Thankfully I won’t have to worry about that this time around!”

You’ve had the privilege of fighting for both of the biggest platforms in the world of mixed martial arts.

Competing for UFC before making the switch to Bellator back in 2019, must be an amazing honour and complement your dedication to Combat sports too, and have your name amongst the biggest stars in the sport?

“It is an honour to have been in the top two MMA organizations in the world. Not a lot of fighters have done that, so I’m very proud of that accomplishment, and thankful that it has given me lots of great memories and stories for life!”

Since joining the roster, you’ve had quite the success story. Accumulating 3 wins over your 4 competitive bouts with Bellator. Looking back on your cage time with the organisation, which one of these outings stands out the most for you?

All of my Bellator fights have been memorable in their own way so it is hard to pick one that stands out. I like to look back at them sometimes since they’re all filmed on my brother’s YouTube channel in the form of a video log and can be seen on my website: www.oliverenkamp.com

Your next step on your MMA journey brings you to one of the biggest stages of them all. Taking on Mark Lemminger 12-4-0 and set to be one of the ones to watch on the preliminary card. What do you make of your opponent for what is due to be a sold-out Wembley Arena?

“My opponent for this fight seems to be a good dude with a well-rounded game. He has plenty of fight experience, having faced the top of the division – including the champion himself. But the better my opponent is, the sharper I get myself, so I’m confident we will create a very entertaining fight for the fans!”

Without giving too much away what steps have you been taking to make sure you walk out with your arm raised and another W on your Bellator record?

“As always my fights are more centred around what I do well than narrowing in on my opponent too much. He will not fight the same as he has done against his former opponents so I think game-planning too much can be a bad idea. I have made sure all my tools and weapons are sharp, from the striking & footwork to the wrestling & submissions – and as always my cardio is on a world-class level! For my previous fight, my resting heart rate reached as low as 36 beats per minute, and I think I will be even better trained for this bout.”

I wish you all the best for the remainder of your camp and for May 13th Oliver. I look forward to your return.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans for supporting me and my brother in our work to spread martial arts and its traditional values of respect/humility to the world! I want to show with my fighting that you can be a good person and a ruthless warrior at the same time. If you would like to know more about me or show your support, feel free to check out my website and the fight-shop at www.oliverenkamp.com and/or follow me on social media @oliverenkamp. Much love!”
