Share:

Bane ‘Does Dis’ Dundavan 4-4-0 is an English professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division, representing Great Britain Top Team. He has competed for Fusion FC, UCMMA, WCMMA and is due to make his debut for Fightstar Championship on July 15th.

I’d like to kick things off by thanking you for taking the time to meet with me today Bane, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion to the explosive Fightstar Championship 22 card.

“Thank you very much, it’s great to be part of it and happy to be on the card. I was meant to be on previously but a couple of things happened, but all ready to go now and ready to put on a good performance.”

I hope training camp has been going well in the build-up to your highly anticipated bout at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre?

“It’s going very well, we train every day and we train like professionals at Great Britain Top Team. Always hold a professional slandered, whenever we train we always go hard and make sure we get the most out of the session, always feel ready.”

I completely agree I’ve been here quite a few times and the quality of training is on a whole new level.

“Solid init.”

For the readers, could you enlighten us on what you’ve been up to since your last bout back in March 2019 at WCMMA 39?

“I met Brad about four/five years ago, I never used to take the sport how you’re meant to take this sport so to say. There were some holes in my game, then I met Brad. Started covering the holes and started realising the sport was a lot bigger than what I had in my mind. So I took a step back to re-evaluate everything and went from there really. I’m looking forward to showing how I’ve evolved as a fighter more than anything.”

With 3 years out, no doubt you will be a completely different fighter out there.

“That’s it really, I don’t really feel the pressure of it, I enjoy the game more. I’ve taken it as a battle against myself and evolving more than anything. I’m ready to show the full MMA side of Bane Dundavan.”

it must be an amazing feeling to be competing once again?

“Mixed emotions really. I’ve been in the sport for 10 years, been in and around fights the whole time. As I said, there was a point where I just enjoyed the training. I just wanted to train and get better. being around so many high-level competitors. even down to the amateurs, you could see areas of your game that needed improvement constantly. So for me, I was just happy to do something. I’m happy and I’m ready to go, excited about the bout and ready to go out there and put on a performance.”

I’ve been looking forward to the card myself, it’s definitely not one to be missed.

With the 2022 Calendar in full swing, are you planning to remain active throughout the year?

“I’ll be honest with you, I wanna get this one out of the way, I’m taking every fight as it comes. My personal life routine has changed a lot as well, it’s finding the time to do a full camp. Again, I never used to do full camps, I never had the understanding of what needed to be put in for full preparation. People sometimes just go in and think they’ve done a fight camp, and they really haven’t done the full work. I wouldn’t ever go into a fight now without the correct preparation. as long as I’ve got the time to be able to do the fight and make sure I’m fit to be able to go the rounds, then yeah, who knows. Hopefully, I get another two, possibly another fight by the end of the year but as I’m getting older it proves difficult. I got a family, a wife and kids, and other things and responsibilities that also come first. I’ll take care of my family life after this fight and see what happens then.”

You are set to take centre stage at Fightstar Championship 22 squaring off against TD MMA’s Harry Davies. Fans including myself have been anxiously awaiting this one. What do you make of Harry in the build-up to your scheduled meeting?

“As a fighter, I know he’s gonna be game, he doesn’t shy away from a fight. I’m expecting a war if I’m honest, I’m expecting him to be improved, to have trained hard, I’m expecting the best Harry Davies to date. I don’t really look too much into my opponents anymore, I’m gonna go out there and do my thing, he’s gonna go out there and do his thing. At the end of the day, the best man will win on the night. I feel like I’m gonna take the W and I’m sure he feels like he’s gonna take the W. There’s only gonna be one winner at the end of the night, hopefully, both of us put on a good show for the crowd. I’ll do my team proud, I’ll make my coaches proud and myself proud, that’s all I can ask for.”

Both of you are absolute forces to be reckoned with in the cage, it’s a phenomenal display of matchmaking on Fightstar Championship‘s part. What can fans expect from you on July 15h?

“That’s a good one, he’s coming to fight and so am I, that’s what makes this one exciting. I feel that’s what people can come to expect, hands will be exchanged in the centre of the cage.”

Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“For me, I will always back my teammates. Vadimas Gaizutis is very very fucking good mate. Absolutely solid up-and-coming kid, he’s great to have around the gym. He keeps the older generation on their toes. We got Vadimas, we got Connor Patterson, Callum Haughian and Samuel Welch. For me, I’m just excited to see them come out of their fights get the result and get the experience in their career. Definitely look out for them, all gonna be solid performances for sure.”

Again, thank you for taking the time to speak to me today Bane, I look forward to witnessing you out there.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“Just make sure you get your tickets and don’t blink, as I guarantee hands will be exchanged and something will go down before the final bell. I wanna give a shout-out to my team and my coaches Brad Pickett and Ashley Grimshaw and Mike Ekundayo. I couldn’t do anything without them. To my sponsors Wernham Hogg Ltd, Ttiwil Steph and Matty boy he knows who he is. And of course, my wife for sticking by me through everything.”

You’ll not want to miss the Fightstar Championship action on July 15th, it is set to be one of the most explosive cards Fightstar have brought together to date. Make sure to grab a ticket, you’ll not be disappointed.
