Irish lightweight duo Dean Barry and Adam Shelley are scheduled to meet at Cage Warriors 153 in just over ten weeks time.
The event is set to take place April 29 at Dublinโs 3Arena, with a title clash at 170 lbs between Rhys McKee and Jimmy Wallhead headlining the card.

Barry (4-2) will be making his debut within the promotion, having fought in the UFC and Titan FC previously. The 30-year-old hasnโt fought at lightweight since 2019, and comes into the contest off the back of a DQ loss to Mike Jackson at โUFC Fight Night 205โ last April.
In a bizarre fight, Barry entered the octagon as a clear favourite. Despite registering a number of quality strikes, he landed a couple of illegal shots to his opponentโs groin area, which were followed by a gruesome eye gouge causing referee Chris Tognoni to call a stop to the contest.
This action resulted in the Irishman being released from the UFC despite his claims of an accidental poke. Barryโs career revival will arrive just over a year after the incident, and heโll be hoping to return to winning ways after showing promise early in his professional career.
His opponent, Shelley (3-2), will be making his fourth promotion appearance at Cage Warriors 153, and comes into the bout following a victory over El Hadji Ndiaye via unanimous decision last November.
Shelley has been the more active fighter out of the pairing, having fought five times since making his professional debut in June 2021.

The Dubliner is 2-1 within the promotion, having beaten Steven Hooper via second round TKO and falling short against James Power last June. Shelleyโs upcoming fight against Barry will be his first professional appearance in his hometown.
