Many organizations have managed to leave a lasting impression on the United Kingdom throughout its history in association with mixed martial arts from countless Cage Warriors touchdown trips to the UFC at the O2 Arena. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a juggernaut of prideful force ready to put the UK at the center of the MMA map once again as Oktagon MMA graces England for the first time on November 4th. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2018 and representing Team Renagade, Akonne Wanliss holds a 7-2 record in nine bouts comprised of four submissions and three knockouts. Wanliss has fought for numerous promotions throughout his career in the professional ranks including Bellator MMA, Levels Fight League and Golden Ticket Fight Promotions. He is 1-0 under the Oktagon MMA banner with a single finish under his belt in his lone appearance with the promotion. Wanliss has a 100 percent finish rate and has never gone to the scorecards over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter at any point. All seven of his victories have been inside the distance.

At MTK MMA 5, he submitted Lewis Needham in the first round. Wanliss defeated Jack Owen via technical knockout in round one at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 11. Then in his promotional debut with Bellator MMA at Bellator Birmingham, he defeated Sam Slater via TKO in the second round. Wanliss tapped out Tim Barnett in round one at Bellator London. He submitted Luke Smith in the first round at Fusion Fight League 33. Wanliss tapped out Manuel Gaxhja in round three in the co-main event of Levels Fight League 5 to earn his fourth submission win as a professional.

At Oktagon MMA 45, he defeated Giorgi Cocochuri via technical knockout in the first round. The victory earned Wanliss the third knockout win of his professional career along with his first win under the Oktagon MMA banner in the process. It will take much more than the forces of heaven and earth to impeade the Jedi!
