The cold chill of a winter evening can emphatically be brought back up to warming temperature for fighters that are seeking to start with a clean slate after a recent loss. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a polar shadow ready to cast some Northern exposure at middleweight for Unified MMA. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2018 and representing Niagra Top Team, Zack Powell holds a 7-2 record in nine contests comprised of four decisions, two submissions and one knockout. Powell has finished three out of his seven wins overall over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. He is 3-1 under the Unified MMA banner with a single finish in three appearances with the promotion under his belt to show for it. All three of Powell’s finishes during his career as a professional mixed martial artist have been within the opening round. He has spent the majority of his professional career in his home nation of Canada.
In his professional MMA debut at TKO 44, he submitted Brad Sullivan via arm-triangle choke in the first round. Powell also tapped out Mattia Loi Fonda in round one via rear-naked choke at TKO 45. He defeated Adam de Freitas via unanimous decision at Prospect Fighting Championships 13. Powell defeated Yemi Oduwole at SHP 56 via unanimous decision. Then in his promotional debut with Unified MMA at Unified MMA 43, he defeated Cole Campbell via unanimous decision. Powell defeated Matt Krayco via unanimous decision at Unified MMA 44 to score his fourth decision win as a professional.
In the co-main event of Unified MMA 56, he defeated Jeremiah Curtwright via TKO in round one. The victory secured Powell the first knockout win of his professional career in addition to his third win under the Unified MMA banner. He also picked up his seventh victory overall as a professional in the process. At 7-2, Powell packs plenty of hot pepper as far as his methods of spice on victory’s heat rack is concerned!
