Sharp as Steel featuring Brad Katona and Ricky Steele

Season 27 of The Ultimate Fighter saw two of the UFC‘s most talent-rich divisions grow even deeper with a new batch of rich prospects. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two fierce wolves whose killer instincts made them the cream of the crop for TUF 27.

Brad Katona

A professional since October 2014 and representing SBG Ireland, Brad Katona holds a perfect 7-0 record comprised of four decisions, two submissions and one knockout. Katona appeared on TUF 27 as a member of team DC. In his MMA debut at MFC 41 All in, he knocked out Michael Hay in  the first round. Then at Prestige FC 1 Atonement Katona tapped out Myles Anderson in round one via guillotine choke. He defeated his next two opponents via decision in Patrick Ward and Josh Rich. At XFFC 13 future stars, Katona submitted Austin Ryan via rear naked choke in round three. He defeated Stephen Cervantes via unanimous decision at MCL 1. In 2018 Katona was selected to be a part of the TUF 27 cast and was the sixth pick of team DC. In episode two, he defeated Kyler Philips via majority decision to advance to the semi-finals. Katona tapped out Bryce Mitchell in episode 10 via rear naked choke in round three to advance to the finals. In his UFC debut at the TUF 27 finale he defeated Jay Cucciniello via unanimous decision to extend his perfect streak to seven to begin his professional career. Well versed in every facet of MMA, this northern wolf is on the attack!

Ricky Steele

A professional since May 2013 and representing SBG Idaho and Combat Fitness, Ricky Steele owns a perfect 5-0 record with all five of those wins coming via decision. Steele appeared on TUF 27 as a member of team DC and has also fought for RFA. In his MMA debut at The Clash MMA 6, he defeated Tony Sanchez via unanimous decision. Steele also defeated his next two foes via decision in Jay Pressley and Gabe Pelayo. At Front Street Fights 7, he defeated Joseph Calderon via unanimous decision. Steele also defeated LJ Schulz via unanimous decision at RFA 35. In 2018, he was chosen to be a part of the TUF 27 cast and was the eighth pick of team DC. In episode six Steele defeated Suman Mokhtarian via unanimous decision to advance to the semi-finals. However he was removed from the show in episode seven due to a concussion. At 5-0 this Idaho scrapper has a unbreakable soul of steel!
