The Cardiff Lions featuring Cage Warriors fighters Rhys McKee and Scott Malone

On December 8, Cage Warriors will close out 2018 with an action-packed slate of fights in Cardiff, Wales. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two fierce lions looking to close out 2018 with a mighty roar.

Rhys McKee

A professional since September 2015 and representing Next Generation Northern Ireland under the watchful eye of head coach Rodney Moore, Rhys McKee owns a 7-2-1 record in nine career bouts as a professional comprised of five knockouts, two submissions and a draw. Prior to signing with Cage Warriors in 2018, McKee competed under the BAMMA banner. In his MMA debut at BAMMA 22, he submitted John Redmond in the first round via guillotine choke. McKee defeated his next two opponents in Shawn Luther and Alex Masuku. Then at BAMMA 26, he defeated Tommy McCafferty via TKO in round one. At BAMMA 27 McKee knocked out Jai Herbert in the first round. In his next appearance with BAMMA at BAMMA 33, he tapped out France’s Kams Ekpo via triangle choke in the second round. McKee faced Tim Barnett for the second time at BAMMA 34 and defeated him via TKO in round one to earn his fifth knockout victory as a professional. In his debut outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 100 on December 8 he will face fellow BAMMA veteran Jefferson George in a lightweight bout. Good luck Rhys!

Scott Malone

A professional since October 2016 and representing Shooters Dundee, Scott Malone owns a 5-1 record in six career bouts as a professional comprised of three knockouts, one submission and one decision. Malone is 2-0 under the Cage Warriors banner. In his MMA debut at On Top Weekender, he tapped out Kevin O’ Fee in the first round via von flue choke. Malone defeated his next two opponents in Kevin Cordero and Adam Bramhald. In his debut appearance with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 91, he defeated Jason Jenkins via unanimous decision. For his second outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 98 Malone defeated Adam Aramasinghe via TKO in round three. At Cage Warriors 100 on December 8, he will face Josh Reed in a bantamweight bout. Good luck Scott!
