Across the Pond Profile: UFC fighter Lerone Murphy

Trusting the process often leads to miracles in disguise throughout the peaks and valleys of a fighter’s career that is on the rise. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a hammering hornet ready to flash his sting of fire at UFC On ESPN 13 on July 15. A professional mixed artist since March 2016 and representing Manchester Top Team under head coach Carl Prince, Lerone Murphy owns an undefeated 8-0-1 record comprised of five knockouts, three decisions, and a draw. Prior to debuting in the UFC in September 2019 at UFC 242, Murphy fought for various promotions across Europe including Full Contact Contender. He has finished five of his eight victories thus far in his career with the bulk of those wins as a pro-MMA fighter coming before the end of round one.

In his MMA debut at FCC 15, he faced Martin Fouda and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision. Murphy defeated his next foes via TKO in Tyler Thomas at Tanko FC 3 and Jamie Lee at FCC 18 respectively. Then at FCC 19, he defeated Nathan Thompson via TKO in the first round. At FightStar Championship 14 Murphy defeated Terry Doyle via TKO in round one. He defeated James Mcerlean via unanimous decision at Evolution Of Combat fight night 2 and Anton De Paepe via unanimous decision at Celtic Gladiator 22 to pick up his third decision win as a professional. For his final appearance with Full Contender at FCC 23 Murphy defeated Manolo Schianna via TKO in the first round. The win earned Murphy the fifth knockout victory of his professional career.

In his second outing with the UFC at UFC On ESPN 13 on July 15, he will face Brazilian submission specialist Ricardo Ramos in a featherweight affair. Good luck Lerone! Joining Murphy at UFC On ESPN 13 will be fellow UK talents Jack Shore and Chris Fishgold.
