Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter James Sheehan

The next generation of Irish MMA is alive and kicking thanks to several standout performances at the latest Cage Warriors trilogy. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a wolfhound of war ready to embark on the path of victory as he readies to dismantle the Cage Warriors welterweight ranks one bout at a time. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2017 and representing Team Ryano under head coach Andy Ryan, James Sheehan owns a 3-2 record through five professional bouts comprised of two submissions and one decision. Sheehan has fought for several promotions during his time as a pro-MMA fighter thus far including Cage Warriors and BAMMA. He is currently 2-1 under the banner of Cage Warriors, with a single finish under his belt for the promotion. Sheehan has finished two out of his three victories throughout his career in the professional ranks. He has only gone to the scorecards once in his pro career. Both of Sheehan’s finishes have come within the distance, with one first-round finish under his belt to go along with one second-round finish.

In his only appearance with BAMMA at BAMMA 35, he faced Dillon Manning and went on to tap him out in the first round via rear-naked choke. Sheehan submitted Kyran Sturrock via rear-naked choke in the second round in his second outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 112 to earn his second submission win as a professional.

Then in the opening main card bout on night number two of the trilogy part five at Cage Warriors 128, he defeated Omeil Brown via split decision. The victory earned Sheehan the first decision win of his professional career. He also picked up back-to-back victories under the banner of Cage Warriors in the process. Well rounded and deceptively dangerous, Sheehan is one wolf that is always out for blood no matter the cost!
