Lightweight prospect Abel Trujillo has picked up an injury and therefore has been forced out of his scheduled fight against the Brit, Ross Pearson that was set for UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. St. Preux.

However…the fight potentially just got even bigger and better with the replacement being none-other than Gray Maynard.

Ross Pearson (15-7-1) hasn’t had the best of luck in his results recently. After winning 2 fights back to back and returning to lightweight, ‘Real Deal’ was then illegally knee’d Melvin Guillard and the bout ruled a no contest. He attempted to bounce back only to be on the wrong end of a judges decision again Diego Sanchez in a fight many called the robbery of the year.

Maynards luck has also soured. Since his back to back title challenges against Frankie Edgar for the lightweight title back in 2011, he has only fought 3 times, going 1-2 and now riding a 2 fight losing streak. His latest in a TKO loss against Nate Diaz back in November 2013.

Gray Maynard was expected to take on Fabricio Camoes on the same show, but for now Camoes will had to wait as his fight will be rescheduled for another event later this year.

UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. St. Preux takes place on August 16, 2014 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
