In Mixed Martial Arts, there is always going to be one fighter in every division that can go from 0-60 pretty quickly. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a fighter whose dominating ground game has propelled him to being one of the top Lightweights in Europe. A professional since March 2009 and fighting out of The MMA Clinic with UFC fighter Joseph Duffy, 25 year old Brad Wheeler owns a 15-9 record in 24 career fights consisting of ten submissions, three knockouts and two decisions. Brad is a popular English fighter who is best known for having fought for Cage Warriors from 2011-2014. He made his debut at Cage Warriors 40 in February 2011 by defeating Hayden Critchfield via rear naked choke in the first round. Brad won his rematch with Ian Entwistle at Cage Warriors 43 via submission in the first round. At Cage Warriors 52 in London, Wheeler defeated Merv Mulholland via knockout in the first round before picking up a unanimous decision over Aymard Guih at Cage Warriors 56. Wheeler defeated David Howell via submission late in the first round at Cage Warriors 64. At Cage Warriors 69, he defeated Jason Cooledge via submission in the second round. In 2015, Wheeler defeated Kester Mamba via knockout in the second round at Warrior Fight Series 3 followed by a unanimous decision over Jefferson George in August. Don’t be surprised if the UFC looks to Lightweights like Brad to bolster the division to add to the other great European talent they already have.
