BAMMA Heavyweight Champ Mark Godbeer talks to MMA UK about signing with Rizin FF and fighting Interim Champ Stuart Austin

MMA UK’s Jade Morris caught up with the BAMMA Heavyweight Champion Mark Godbeer at BAMMA 23, Godbeer who was originally meant to face Ruben Wolf at BAMMA 23 but pulled out from the fight later announced he has signed with Rizin FF in an eight man tournament.

Godbeer- ‘I was taken out the fight as I have been selected to fight in Rizin Tournament in Japan on New Years Eve, so it’s a big 8 man tournament, obviously fighters are selected from numerous different promotions from around the world and I’m happy that BAMMA has chosen me to represent them’

BAMMA’s Interim Heavyweight Champ Stuart Austin who was originally meant to face Paul Taylor stepped in to replace Ruben Wolf at BAMMA 23 for the Interim Heavyweight Title. We asked the BAMMA Heavyweight Champ Mark Godbeer about his thoughts on fighting Stuart Austin.

Godbeer- ‘I am good friends with Stuart he was my training partner for three years on the same team but this is the fight game… we both knew this was coming we have spoke about it’
