Luke Rockhold who faced Chris Weidman for the Middleweight title in the UFC 194 co-main event put on a dominant display against the previously undefeated Champ.
Rockhold shut down Weidman at every turn, by round 3 Weidman started to become desperate and attempted a spinning kick which ultimately cost him as Rockhold capitalised and took his back ending the round with a vicious ground and pound.
Rockhold looked to capitalise early in round 4 securing another takedown, Weidman who seemed to have nothing left was struggling to get back to his feet moving along the cage. Rockhold unloaded more brutal ground and pound with vicious punches and elbows causing ref Herb Dean to finally stop the fight.
Upon realising he was the new Middleweight Champion and overwhelmed Rockhold dropped to the canvas on his knees in the middle of the Octagon in joy.
Rockhold ‘I can’t even believe this is real right now… you have just got to believe in yourself and stay confident’
