UFC officials today announced Jake Matthews (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Stevie Ray (19-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will fight on The Ultimate Fighter card in Las Vegas on July 9.
The TUF 23 Finale takes place July 8, as part of the build up of UFC 200, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Ray, a 26-year-old Scottish fighter, is a former Cage Warriors and BAMMA champion who’s kicked off his UFC career with three straight victories. In addition to a TKO win over Marcin Bandel and a decision victory over Mickael Lebout, he picked up a “Performance of the Night” bonus for a first-round TKO win over Leonardo Mafra.
Matthews has posted a 4-1 record with four stoppage victories. He suffered a loss in his first fight to James Vick at UFC Fight Night 65. A TKO win over Akbarh Arreola at UFC 193 was followed by a submission win over Johnny Case at UFC Fight Night 85.
