UFC Fight Night takes place on March 30th at the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The first fight confirmed is a strawweight bout – former title challenger #6 Karolina Kowalkiewicz (12-3-0) takes on #8 Michelle ‘The Karate Hottie’ Waterson (16-6-0).
Fighting out of Shark Top Team in Poland, Karolina last fought at UFC 228: Woodley vs Till in September 2018 where she lost to current number one contender Jessica Andrade, who is due to fight for the strawweight title against champion ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas at UFC 237 in May.
Ironically, Karolina has a split decision victory over ‘Thug’ Rose from the current champ’s debut back in 2016.
Michelle Waterson aka. The Karate Hottie is coming off a unanimous decision victory from a war with #10 Felice Herrig at UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor in October 2018. Though Karolina is known for her sharp kickboxing, this fight with Herrig proves that Waterson can hold her own when the fight gets taken into deep waters.
Since turning pro in 2012, Karolina has gone the distance 10 times – including 5 rounds with former champ Joanna Jedreczyck. Both women have proved to be susceptible to submissions in the past, so be prepared for possibly another three rounds of hard striking.
