Across the Pond Profile: UFC fighter Omar Morales

MMA is a giant melting pot stirred by the ladle of a master chef with each nation in the recipe contributing a different dash of heat in various degrees of tolerance.  In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a South American pit viper whose venomous scorch is looking to ignite a flavour bomb packed full of an international explosion at lightweight in the wide and global world of the UFC‘s pot of world gumbo. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2011 and representing Hard Knocks 365, Omar Morales owns an undefeated 9-0 record comprised of five submissions, two knockouts and two decisions. Morales earned his contract with the UFC on week seven during season three of DWTNCS in 2019. He has gone on to finish seven of his nine victories and has also fought for Bellator MMA. The bulk of his wins have come inside the first frame.

In his MMA debut, he submitted Angel Britto in the first round. Morales also tapped out Wilmer Gonzalez and Jesus Rodriguez. He defeated Stefan Werleman in round one. Morales defeated Danillo Da Silva via unanimous decision at Fight Time 25. He submitted Jhan Zuniaga in round one via rear-naked choke to score his fifth submission win as a pro. Then in his one and only appearance for Bellator MMA at Bellator 204, Morales knocked out Troy Narwocki in the first round.

In the head liner of DWTNCS week number seven of season three, he took on southwestern finisher Harvey Park and defeated him via TKO in the second round to pick up his second knockout win as a professional along with a contract from the UFC. At UFC On ESPN + 23 Morales defeated South Korea’s Dong Huyn Ma via unanimous decision to earn the second decision victory of his professional career. Stand clear of the kitchen if you can’t stomach the intense heat this South American bomb of smoking rage gives off!
