Across the Pond profile: UFC fighter Miguel Baeza

Fighters often use an appearance on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series as the first turn of the key to unlocking and releasing their potential. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a hurricane whose vicious gale-force winds have the welterweight division of the UFC caught in the eye of the storm. A professional mixed martial artist since August 2015 and representing Rock MMA, Miguel Baeza owns an undefeated 8-0 professional record comprised of six knockouts and two decisions. Baeza secured his contract from the UFC on week two of season three of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 and has finished six of his eight pro victories in his tenure as an MMA fighter thus far with the majority of those wins coming within rounds one or two with just two of the eight making it into the judge’s hands.

In his MMA debut at Rings of Dreams 17, he faced John McDonald and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. Baeza also defeated Emre Orun in round one at Titan FC 40. Then at Fight Time 33, he knocked out Mike D’Angelo in the first round. Baeza defeated Augustus D’Angelo via TKO in the second round. At Fight Time 37 he defeated Leo Valdivia via split decision. Baeza knocked out Matthew Colquhoun in the first round at XFN 22.

At DWTNCS week two, he took on Victor Reyna and defeated him via unanimous decision to pick up his second decision win as a professional along with a UFC contract. In his debut fight for the UFC at UFC On ESPN Plus 19, he defeated Hector Aldana via TKO in the second round. The win earned Baeza the sixth knockout victory of his professional career. Be prepared when facing off against this howling hurricane or you just might end up getting swept away off your feet!
