Under the expert hand of head coach Marc Montoya, Factory X has possessed a keen eye for taking fighters who are in the midst of a downward swing and building them back up block by block. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a mile high magician looking to pull a rabbit out of the hat as he aims to earn win number three in the UFC at UFC On ESPN 9 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on May 30. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2013 and representing Factory X, Chris Gutierrez owns a 14-3-1 record in 17 pro bouts comprised of seven decisions, six knockouts one submission, and a draw. Prior to making his debut in the UFC at The Ultimate Fighter season 28 finale in November 2018, Gutierrez fought for various promotions including Legacy Fighting Alliance, WSOF and Bellator MMA. He has finished seven of his 14 wins so far in his career as a pro-MMA fighter.

In his MMA debut, he defeated Dawond Pickney via TKO in the third round. Gutierrez also defeated Justin McNally and Tristan Grimsley. Then, he faced Evan Woolsey and defeated him via unanimous decision. Gutierrez defeated Tyler Shinn via split decision. He won his next four fights that included wins over Timur Vailev and Craig Ross. At LFA 22 Gutierrez defeated Mario Israel via split decision. He defeated Jimmy Flick via TKO in round three at XFN 347. In the main event of LFA 52 Gutierrez tapped out  Ray Rodriguez via rear-naked choke in the first round to pick up his first and only submission win as a pro thus far.

For his second outing in the UFC at UFC On ESPN Plus 6, he defeated Ryan MacDonald via unanimous decision. Gutierrez defeated Geraldo de Fretias jr via split decision at UFC On ESPN Plus 14 to earn the seventh decision victory of his professional career along with back to back UFC wins. At UFC On ESPN 9 on May 30, he will take on Vince Morales in a clash at featherweight. Good luck Chris!
