Prospects from other nations have not always had the calmest of seas when they embark on their MMA voyage. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a bulldog off the tundra looking to bust his chain of iron as one of the UFC‘S newest imports from up north at flyweight. A professional mixed martial artist since October 2012 and representing Adrenaline Training Center, Malcolm Gordon holds a 12-4 record in 16 professional bouts comprised of six submissions, four knockouts, and two decisions. Gordon fought for numerous promotions in Canada including TKO MMA prior to debuting with the UFC in July 2020 at UFC On ESPN Plus 30. He has secured a finish in 10 out of his 12 victories in his tenure thus far as a pro-MMA fighter and has made it on to the scorecards twice.
In his MMA debut at Score Fighting Series 6, he submitted Tyler Kirk via armbar in the first round. Gordon defeated his next three foes that included wins over Michael Davis and Ahmad Kakar. Then at Bellator 119, he defeated UFC veteran Chris Kelades via unanimous decision. Gordon also defeated Shawn Mack via unanimous decision at WXC 59 Homeland Pride. He defeated Andrew Cesh via TKO in the first round. At WXC 64 Redemption, Gordon tapped out Jessie Bazzi in round one via kimura. He knocked out Michael Jordan in the first round at WXC 69. Gordon submitted Jordan Graham via kimura in the first round at TKO MMA 42. He tapped out James Mancini in round two via armbar at TKO MMA Fight Night 1.
At TKO MMA 47, he submitted Yoni Sherbatov via rear-naked choke in the first round. The win earned Gordon the sixth submission victory of his professional career. With 10 finishes out of 12 wins, Gordon’s fury is fiercer than a winter freeze!
