Jon Jones Vows Never To Return To Light Heavyweight Division

Jon Jones has vowed never to return to the light heavyweight division ever again in an interview with Bleacher Report.

“I thought it was the right thing to do for everyone else,” he added. “I could have done the selfish thing and held onto it and come up with a bunch of excuses and lied to the fans and said I was going to come back down to light heavyweight and made all these guys wait. I didn’t want to do that. I have no intentions of ever going back to light heavyweight.”

Only a couple of weeks ago Dana White stated his dream fight to make in 2021 would be Jon Jones V Israel Adesanya, which would now be nearly impossible if Jones sticks to his word.

Jones hasn’t been matched for heavyweight division yet, but rumours suggest he will be given the winner of Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. Even though that fight is not official yet, White has stated Ngannou is next in line for a shot at the title.
