According to sources close to Ariel Helwani, Nate Diaz will return against Leon Edwards in the co-main event of UFC 262 on May 15th. It will be the first 5 round non-title main event in UFC history.
Diaz hasn’t fought since his loss to Jorge Masvidal for the BMF belt in 2019 at UFC 244.
Edwards is coming off a no-contest fight against Belal Muhammad which has been his only fight in nearly 2 years.
Both fighters have verbally agreed on this fight but haven’t signed the contract yet.
