On Saturday, Oliveira defeated Michael Chandler by TKO, and The Notorious was quick to respond.
After defeating Michael Chandler to become the new lightweight UFC champion, Conor McGregor has called out Charles Oliveira.
With a dramatic second-round TKO over the three-time Bellator champion in Texas, the Brazilian extended his winning streak to nine fights.
McGregor said on Twitter: “Congrats to Oliveira on becoming the 11th UFC lightweight champion. Wonder who Twelve is…”
“Conor, because you’re so tough, first beat Dustin, then come to Brazil and I’ll put you on your a**,” Oliveira said to The Notorious through reporters in response to the provocation.
Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier sent a classy post, writing: “Congratulations, @CharlesDoBronxs; you’ve worked hard for it!
“I’m proving to everybody, I’m the lion of lions.
“Michael, you’re a great champion, but today was my day. Michael said I couldn’t take pressure, and he hit, hit, hit. And I’m still here. Here’s the belt!”
