Our neighbors to the north have managed to make quite the lasting impression on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series this season. A professional mixed martial artist since April 2011 and representing Team Alpha Male, Mike Malott holds a 7-1-1 record through eight professional bouts comprised of four submissions, three knockouts, and a draw. Malott earned his contract from the UFC on week six during the fifth season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2021. He has finished all seven of his victories during his journey as a pro-MMA fighter so far. Malott has fought for various regional promotions in his home nation of Canada in addition to Cage Fury Fighting Championships. The bulk of Malott’s wins during his pro career have come before the close of the opening round. Malott has yet to reach the scorecards at any point during his journey as a professional mixed martial artist.
In his MMA debut, he submitted James Saunders in the first round via armbar. Malott also defeated his next two foes in Jon Williams and Michael Imperato. Then, he knocked out Allan Wilson in the first round. Malott knocked out Craig Shintani in round one at XFFC 13 future stars. At Cage Fury Fighting Championships 91, he tapped out Solomon Renfro via rear-naked choke in the first round.
In the main event of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week six of season five, he submitted Shimon Smotritsky in round one. The victory earned Malott the fourth submission win of his professional career.
